On February 22 the annual Latvian Music Awards ceremony took place at the National Theater in Riga. 16 awards were given out to musicians and bands in different categories. The winners in each nomination were chosen by a jury made of 50 industry professionals. Lauris Reiniks had 4 nominations – Best Music Video, Best Song, Radio Hit 2010 and Best Pop Album. In a serious competition Lauris won the nomination of “Best Pop Music Album” for his “Es skrienu” album (Microphone Records).

“I am truly happy and honored for winning this prestigious award. I’d like to thank the jury members and everyone who was involved in making this record – “Microphone Records”, my producers Gints Stankevics and Midis, photographer Oto Godfrey, “Balti” company, lyricists Karina Tropa and Guntars Racs, but most of all Martins Freimanis. This album was our last co-work with Martins and it’s nice that it is appreciated! Thanks to everyone who kept their fingers crossed for me!” – Lauris Reiniks
