The 4th hole has a deep pit protecting the front left, the 8th green is set on a ledge with a twelve foot drop to the right, the 10th is across a valley to a green with a hog back ridge in its middle, the 13th is downhill to a most attractively bunkered green, and the 17th features a small pulpit green. Respond to above review The course is a leisurely stroll through the forest, with nice flora and heather. 11th a blind short par 4 which doglegs right tapering in narrowly towards the green with fairway bunkers that will gobble anything off line. The course has had changes done to it, going by comparisons to photos, talking to Pro staff and a member who I spoke to. Colt also was a fan of using cross-bunkering, which throws off the golfers’ depth perception. Swinley Forest is very close to two other immense English courses - Sunningdale Old and New. It’s a relatively short course by modern standards and requires strategy, rather than high bombs and hellacious seeds off every tee. After playing so many challenging holes, you arrive at the eleventh, a short par 4 bending slightly to the left at 332 yards.
